My long weekend was nothing short of fun. I spent time with little people who never fails to teach me a thing or two about life. My friends had a little playdate and I decided to join them for a little bit of fun especially since my favourite little big girls are in town. Yup! My bestie is in town! It feels so good to spend time with someone you are so comfortable with you don't mind farting in front of them. Have friends like that? They are for keeps.

Little girls are such darlings. Remember how we used to love copying the adults? Putting on (fake) makeup, dressing up, putting on heels. Dreaming of a true love's kiss from Prince Charming? These girls think that being an adult is fun. They also believe in fairytales and princes. They always ask if I have found my prince. To which I will always say no. I forgot when I stopped having dreams as huge as mountains. I think I stopped dreaming the very moment I became an adult.

I want the children I impart knowledge to, to believe in their dreams. I want them to continue dreaming to no end. It is sad that we have to stop dreaming because dreaming is not for the most of us who have responsibilities.

A few months ago, I was always on the lookout for any single man because every man I meet is a possible soulmate. My search for a soulmate was so intense. I questioned why some people meet their other halves easily while it's taking me a while now. A few days ago, I found my answer. Allah took away something only to replace it with something better.

In my case, it isn't the arrival of my Prince Charming. If I am married today, I won't be making a change. My dreams will forever be a dream. But because my wedding was taken away from me, I am now able to concentrate on building my dream. My soulmate is still on his way to me, on foot, but I hope that when he sees me, he sees an independent and successful woman.

So maybe fairytales don't exist but we can make it happen. Tell your little ones that it is perfectly fine to dream. That it is ok to dream of being an astronaut, or a YouTube star because dreams are very powerful.

Dream big, work harder.
